Starting February 1, 2013 my work will be featured at Subterranean Coffee Boutique at 3764 30th Street in North Park. Check them out at www.subterraneancoffeeboutique.com. This hip new joint is owned by Gene Padigos Jr. and his lovely wife Kelsey. They just opened a few months ago but by the looks of it, things are going great and I am excited to be a part of their venture. My art will be featured for the month of February along with a few other fantastic artists. The opening night is February 9, as part of Ray at Night- check that scene out at www.raynight.com. I hope all my gorgeous friends will make it out for that night but if not, please take some time in February to check them out, the art will be fun but the there food is delish! I highly recommend the homemade poptarts they carry as well as their scrumptious sandwiches they make- the pesto avo will blow your mind!
In a black frock with pink sash, I donned a pink butterfly and bird in my giant beehive hair do and scampered off to Monica's at the Park to attend the Strides For Life Breast Cancer Art Show and Fundraiser. The night featured an ensamble of all female artists, live music, rose wine samplings and moving speeches by breast cancer survivors. The owner of Monica's partnered with Stacy Matseas to host the event and I was asked to be one of the featured artitsts. I created several new pieces for the show, all in pink, of course. I made 3 sales that night, which was fabulous for me and the The American Cancer Society, as 20% of all sales were donated. Thank you to everyone who attended and for those of you who were unable to attend, I hope to see you next time, it was great fun!
